Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of the newly-appointed ambassador of Finland to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of the newly-appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to our country, Christer Mickelsson.

Ambassador Christer Mickelsson passed in front of the Guard of Honour.

Christer Mickelsson presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev talked with the ambassador.

Stressing that our peoples have long historical ties, the head of state expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between the two countries. Referring to the visit of the President of the Republic of Finland to Azerbaijan and his visit to Finland, President Ilham Aliyev described mutual high-level visits as a good indicator of cooperation. The head of state stressed that there are great opportunities to build strong partnerships between Azerbaijan and Finland in the political, economic, cultural and other fields.

Ambassador Christer Mickelsson noted that his country is interested in expanding bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. Emphasizing that economic cooperation has great potential, the ambassador noted the importance of mutual visits at various levels for the development of our relations. The Finnish diplomat said that during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan he will make every effort to develop cooperation between the two countries.
