President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to our country, Frederick Shumba Hapunda.

Ambassador Frederick Shumba Hapunda passed in front of the Guard of Honour.

Frederick Shumba Hapunda presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev spoke with the ambassador.

Ambassador Frederick Shumba Hapunda conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic of Zambia Michael Sata to the Azerbaijani head of state. He said that the rapid development of Azerbaijan made a deep impression on him. Noting that his country is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy, industry, tourism, agriculture, trade and other fields, Frederick Shumba Hapunda said that he will make every effort in this direction. Noting that there are ample opportunities for the development of bilateral ties, the diplomat stressed the active cooperation of our countries in the UN and other international organizations.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of studying opportunities for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Zambia in various fields, including in the field of economy, trade and business.

The President noted the importance of active cooperation between our countries in the UN. He expressed the hope that during the diplomatic activity of Frederick Shumba Hapunda in Azerbaijan, cooperation between the two countries will develop.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Michael Sata and asked to convey his greetings to the Zambian head of state.
