President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Goygol.

A glorious period in the history of Azerbaijan is associated with the name of nationwide leader and prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev. Taking into consideration the great leader’s exceptional contribution to the nation and the state of Azerbaijan, important work has been carried in Baku and the regions of the country to perpetuate the memory of this outstanding personality. The establishment of a magnificent Heydar Aliyev Center in Goygol District is yet another step towards perpetuating the memory of the great politician. The center provides extensive and detailed information about Heydar Aliyev’s life and work, and the legacy he has bequeathed to the people of Azerbaijan. Close familiarization with the center confirms yet again that the great leader, who dedicated his entire life to the people and state of Azerbaijan, has left an indelible mark on the history of his country.

By his activities Heydar Aliyev facilitated the transition to a democratic society in the country and assumed the historic mission of building an independent and democratic Azerbaijan. The great leader designed a concept of a powerful state and effective economy, thus writing glorious pages in the history of independent Azerbaijan. The center and the Heydar Aliyev park in which it is located have become one of the most beautiful locations in Goygol.

First President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the Heydar Aliyev park.

The head of state was informed about the landscaping and reconstruction work carried out here. The Heydar Aliyev center, the youth center, the cinema and the children’s entertainment center in the Heydar Aliyev park, which has been built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, meet the latest quality standards. All the conditions are available for local residents to have rest here. The great theater of the park has been restored. There is a room of board games and special attractions for kids.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Heydar Aliyev center.

There is a bust of great leader Heydar Aliyev in the lobby of the center. The museum of Heydar Aliyev has been set up to study the great leader’s political legacy. The museum displays child and youth pictures of the nationwide leader and photos documenting different periods of his political activity. Every single exhibit of the museum confirms the theory that history is based on the ideas and deeds of great people and that the fate of the great leader actually repeats the fate of the Azerbaijani people. The invaluable services of Heydar Aliyev have become a chronicle of progress, salvation and development. The materials displayed in the museum show that the ideas of the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan about statehood, Azerbaijanism, secularism and modernity have become inalienable parts of the system of values in our society.

The Heydar Aliyev center has assembly and conference halls for conducting various activities. There are painting, carpet-weaving and sewing clubs at the center for young people to spend their leisure hours effectively. There is also an electronic library, a photo studio, a chess club, a Mugham room and a 3D cinema at the center.

The Heydar Aliyev Center, which has been built in an original architectural style, is also of great importance from the standpoint of promoting Azerbaijan’s national moral values. In general, besides studying the political legacy of the great leader, the construction of such centers is important for communicating his heritage to future generations. The great leader paid special attention to the development of all Azerbaijani districts both in the Soviet time and in the years of independence. The establishment of such a center in Goygol represents a sign of recognition of the great personality on the part of local residents.
