Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the course of large-scale improvement and reconstruction work at the Nasimi recreational park in Sumgayit

President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev has familiarized himself with the course of large-scale improvement and reconstruction work at the Nasimi recreational park in Sumgayit.

The head of the Sumgayit city executive authorities, Eldar Azizov, informed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that as a result of the work carried out since 2011, large-scale building work has been implemented to ensure recreation for the population in the park with an area of 100 hectares.

The head of state was informed about the plan to expand the road from the Baku-Guba highway to Koroglu Street. In addition, the draft of the Green Theatre, which will be constructed in Sumgayit, was presented. It was noted that the planned work includes the construction of a coastal road in the Nasimi park.

President Ilham Aliyev also inspected drafts of monuments dedicated to the 20 January and Khojali tragedies. To date, several catering facilities have been built at the Nasimi Culture and Recreation Park, and the process is continuing.

We should recall that in this culture and recreation park, which was created in 1967, rare trees have been planted, and within the framework of ongoing reconstruction, this tradition is preserved. In 1978, the park was named after the great Azerbaijani poet Nasimi. By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic issued in 2001, this park of culture and recreation was included on the list of historical and cultural monuments of national importance.
