Ilham Aliyev received the newly-appointed ambassador of Sri Lanka to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly-appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to our country, Mohamed Faizal Razeen.

Ambassador Mohamed Faizal Razeen passed in front of the guard of honour.

Mohamed Faizal Razeen gave his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev spoke with the ambassador.

Ambassador Mohamed Faizal Razeen conveyed greetings from the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa to our head of state.

The meeting stressed the importance of bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka, noted the need to explore opportunities and identify areas of cooperation for the expansion of ties.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and asked to convey his greetings to the Sri Lankan head of state.
