The opening ceremony of a modern observation wheel has been held in the new boulevard section of the National Seaside Park which stretches to the State Flag Square.
The ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva.
The successful implementation of the project to extend the National Seaside Park to the State Flag Square on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev has completely changed the appearance of Baku. To provide for efficient leisure of the residents and visitors to Baku, the most sophisticated infrastructure has been created and new service and catering facilities commissioned here in a short period of time. The Baku Boulevard attracts the attention of tourists with its special beauty. New projects on the organization of leisure of children and teen-agers have also been launched on the territory.
In accordance with an agreement signed with “Dutch Wheels” of the Netherlands, the construction and installation of the modern observation wheel were launched in September 2013 and made have been completed with high quality.
President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva were informed about the technical parameters and operational characteristics capabilities of the new facility.
It was indicated that in the new structure 60 meters in diameter has 30 eight-seat booths.
The President and his wife went on a ride on the observation wheel.
The new attraction will be fully commissioned in the coming days.
