After the official welcoming ceremony a meeting took place between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in an extended format.
They stressed the importance of President Ilham Aliyev`s official visit to Iran in terms of developing bilateral ties between the two countries.
The two presidents also recalled their meeting in Davos where they discussed ways to expand the Azerbaijan-Iran relations.
Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Hassan Rouhani noted there were good opportunities for enhancing friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Iran in a variety of fields, including politics, economy, investment making, energy, transport, infrastructure, culture and tourism.
They stressed the necessity of strengthening efforts to overcome obstacles to implementing these opportunities and deepening the cooperation even further.
This was followed by a one-to-one meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and President Hassan Rouhani.
