After the one-on-one meeting, President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias held a meeting in an expanded format with the participation of delegations.

President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias welcomed President Ilham Aliyev to Greece again and said that the visit was of particular importance to the development of bilateral cooperation.

President Karolos Papoulias said:

- The level of political relations between our countries is very high. I think there are good prospects for their development in every direction. I would like to emphasize the energy sector.

I would not like to repeat what we discussed in our one-on-one meeting because I think there are other interesting matters to be discussed. Therefore, with your permission, I would like to give the floor to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos. He will provide brief information about Greece’s presidency in the European Union. I would also like to note that this presidency is coming to an end.
