Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak said:

- Mr. President, thank you for such a warm and wonderful welcome. As I said on arrival last night, the dynamic and at the same time qualitative development under your leadership has made a deep impression on me. To see the transformation of Baku into a modern city and of Azerbaijan into a country building up its strength and a developing state with great potential is truly inspiring.

Your Excellency, I would like to congratulate you on such a perfect leadership. I was looking forward to this visit. I had heard a lot about your country and am very pleased with what I am seeing. In the future I would like to spend more time here and see this beautiful picture.

With regard to bilateral relations, our countries have established a very positive relationship. I do believe that based on this relationship, we can identify many areas of cooperation. I believe that this will be underpinned by cooperation in the oil and gas sector of your country. I think that the Memorandum of Understanding that will be signed today will mark the beginning of a very important stage in the development of our cooperation.
