Ilham Aliyev received the representatives of the UN

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received head of the United Nations Department of Public Information Maher Nasser, United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi, Director General for Democracy of the Council of Europe Snejana Samardzic-Markovic and UNESCO Assistant Director-General Lalla Aïcha Ben Barka.

Head of the United Nations Department of Public Information Maher Nasser thanked the head of state for excellent organization of the First Global Forum on Youth Policies, and congratulated the President on Azerbaijan`s great achievements. He noted that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon showed great interest in the event, and noted the significance of a video address by the Secretary-General to the forum participants. Maher Nasser stressed the importance of holding the Global Forum on Youth Policies in Baku for the first time in terms of the expansion of international cooperation in the field of youth policy.

United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi underlined the importance of the fact that the event was the first global forum of the UN on youth policies. He noted that the forum was the largest event on youth policies so far, adding it brought together the greatest number of countries and delegates. Ahmad Alhendawi thanked the head of state for supporting the organization of the forum at a high level.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significance of holding the First Global Forum on Youth Policies in Azerbaijan. Describing the video address by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to the forum as an expression of the importance attached to the event at the international level, the head of state said that Azerbaijan had already become a venue for holding the most prestigious international events. President Ilham Aliyev noted that this would contribute to a further expansion of cooperation among countries and nations.
