Following official welcome ceremony in Riga, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev met with Latvian President Valdis Zatlers in private.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with successful development of relations in various fields between the two countries, while noting the existing good prospects for deepening of cooperation.
During the talks, the importance of Azerbaijan and Latvian relations for expanding cooperation within the framework of the European Union was highlighted and bilateral relations and international issues were discussed.
