President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Turkish Gendarmerie Commander, General Necdet Ozel.
Noting that his first foreign visit after assuming the post of the Gendarmerie Commander of the Turkish Republic was to friendly and fraternal Azerbaijan, General Necdet Ozel characterized this country as his second Motherland. He said that every measure was taken to bring up the new generation of Turkey in the same spirit. Necdet Ozel noted that he had very good discussions on development of bilateral cooperation during the visit.
The President said the fact that Turkey’s top officials make their first foreign visits to Azerbaijan had become a good tradition. Expressing his satisfaction with manifestation of friendly and fraternal relations among the people, President Ilham Aliyev also noted the necessity of establishing close relations between the officials of the two countries. Having stressed that Necdet Ozel`s visit to Azerbaijan had opened up good opportunities to learn more about the country, the President also expressed assurance that the general would establish fruitful cooperation with his Azerbaijani counterparts.
