Ilham Aliyev received the newly-appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, Toyli Komekov.

Ambassador Toyli Komekov passed along the guard of honor.

Toyli Komekov presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev conversed with the Ambassador.

The President highlighted active cooperation carried out between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the good level of political relations, and development of ties in economic sphere. President Ilham Aliyev said he hoped the dynamism of relations would continue to be preserved, the agenda of relations between the two friendly and fraternal peoples would enhance and the overall relations would develop further. The President expressed his hope in further development of bilateral relations during Toly Komekov’s diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan and wished success to the Ambassador.

Ambassador Toyli Komekov delivered the greetings and pleasant wishes of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow to the President. Toyli Komekov said he was honored to embark upon his career as an Ambassador in Azerbaijan. Having mentioned that he had previously worked with his Azerbaijani colleagues on Caspian Sea related issues in Baku, the Ambassador praised the high-level organization of the Baku Summit of Caspian-littoral States with the chairmanship of Azerbaijan and noted the importance of the legal document signed at the Summit.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow and asked to deliver his greetings to the President of Turkmenistan as well.
