President Ilham Aliyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Azerbaijan, Philippe Jottard, who had completed his diplomatic tenure in the country.
The President underlined successful development of relations between the two countries. President Ilham Aliyev recalled his recent meeting with former Prime Minister of Belgium, Herman van Rompuy, and the discussions conducted with him on the European Union - Azerbaijan partnership. Having expressed his confidence in further development of relations between the two countries, the President also thanked the ambassador for his contributions to improvement of bilateral relationship between Azerbaijan and Belgium.
The Ambassador, in turn, said there was great potential to develop both political and economic ties between the two states. The diplomat noted that his tenure in Azerbaijan coincided with very interesting years.
