President Ilham Aliyev received Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin.

The President expressed assurance that the meetings of the Head of Russian Presidential Administration in Azerbaijan would be successful. Having stressed the need to galvanize the preparatory works this year for the Baku International Humanitarian Forum, President Ilham Aliyev said the forum would have a new status. The President said these evens would not only possess Russian-Azerbaijan, but also international features, adding that the basis for this process had been founded by Azerbaijan and Russia with the two states as founders and initiators. Saying that relations between Azerbaijan and Russia cover a broad range of areas, President Ilham Aliyev pointed out the importance of his meetings with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. He said that all the issues related to development of bilateral relations, discussed during the meetings, had been solved effectively and constructively. President Ilham Aliyev noted that a number of important agreements had been reached within the framework of the last visit of Russian President to Azerbaijan. Highlighting the high-level organization of the Baku Summit of the Caspian-littoral States, the President also noted the existence of full mutual understanding on regional issues between the two countries. President Ilham Aliyev said the visit of Head of Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Naryshkin to Azerbaijan would contribute to development of bilateral relations in the year of 2011.

Naryshkin conveyed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev`s greetings to the Azerbaijani President. Having touched upon cooperation between the two countries, Sergey Naryshkin also added that high-level cooperation had good prospects in economic and political fields. Mentioning that Russia and Azerbaijan implement a comprehensive humanitarian program, Sergey Naryshkin said the humanitarian forum, which had already turned into an international formum, was a great event in a format of not only bilateral but also multilateral relations.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and asked to deliver his greetings to the Russian President as well.
