Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Teymuraz Sharashenidze.

Ambassador Teymuraz Sharashenidze passed along the guard of honor.

Teymuraz Sharashenidze presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a conversation with the Ambassador.

The President expressed confidence in further successful development of Azerbaijan-Georgian relations during the tenure of Ambassador Teymuraz Sharashenidze in Azerbaijan. Having emphasized that Azerbaijan and Georgia are close neighbors, friendly and fraternal states, President Ilham Aliyev said numerous historical values link our countries.

Expressing satisfaction with the level and dynamics of relations between the two countries, the President also stressed the importance of joint initiatives and projects implemented in every field. President Ilham Aliyev said active work was underway to implement the projects, scheduled for coming years, and noted that new areas for joint activities in Azerbaijan and in the region would be determined. The President said the relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in political, economic and humanitarian fields were on a high level. President Ilham Aliyev underscored the significance of bilateral relations for the peoples and regional cooperation and security.

Ambassador Teymuraz Sharashenidze conveyed his high regards to the President of Azerbaijan and to Azerbaijani people. The Georgian diplomat noted that working as an Ambassador in a historically close country is a responsible job, adding that he would spare no efforts for further strengthening and deepening of already existing relations between the two states.
