President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed “Eastern Terminal” of the Nakhchivan International Airport after reconstruction.
Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and president of Azerbaijan Airlines Closed Joint Stock Company Jahangir Asgarov informed the head of state about the technical indicators of the terminal.
Two jet bridges were installed in the terminal. All necessary conditions were carried out here to ensure comfort of passengers.
Special elevators for passengers with reduced mobility were installed here. A 41 meter-long baggage conveyor system and escalators were also installed in the terminal. All these novelties will allow to increase the airport`s passenger traffic from 150-200 to 400-450 passengers per hour.
The Nakhchivan International Airport operates flights to Baku, Istanbul and Moscow. It is expected to resume flights to Ganja until the end of the year.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev completed his working visit to the Russian Federation on April 22.
