Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of a newly appointed Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of a newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Australia in Azerbaijan, Ian David Grainge Biggs.

The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor.

Ian David Grainge Biggs presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, the Azerbaijani President held a conversation with the Ambassador.

The President recalled his meeting and fruitful talks with the Australian Foreign Minister in Astana in December of last year. President Ilham Aliyev said mutual will existed in both sides for development of bilateral relations between the two states. The President noted the importance of active cooperation in various fields in future. President Ilham Aliyev also mentioned that good opportunities existed for development of bilateral relations between Australia and Azerbaijan in political, economic, business, mutual investments and other areas.

Ian David Grainge Biggs noted the necessity of developing bilateral relations, in particular, trade, investment making, and ties between people, adding that he would spare no effort in this direction.

Ambassador Ian David Grainge Biggs also underlined that his country supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, with regards to the Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
