Ilham Aliyev met with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon
President Ilham Aliyev has met with United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon.
The successful development of Azerbaijani-US bilateral relations in various fields was stressed during the meeting.
President Ilham Aliyev hailed the results of his visit to the United States as successful. The head of state said the visit and meetings held during the trip contributed to the elevation of the bilateral relations, which were based on strategic cooperation, to a new level.
US Under Secretary of State Thomas Shannon said President Ilham Aliyev`s successful meetings in Washington were followed with interest. The Under Secretary said the US attached great importance to relations with Azerbaijan, and expressed hope that the bilateral ties would continue expanding in a variety of areas.
They exchanged views on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, economy and trade.
