President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the House of Youth in Astara.

First, President Ilham Aliyev examined the State Flag Square established in the Heydar Aliyev Avenue of Astara. The height of the flagpole in the square is 65 meters. The square adjoins a park. A modern lighting system has been installed and landscaping carried out.

The head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the House of Youth and toured the two-storey building with a total area of 900 square meters. It was indicated that all the conditions have been created for the recreation and entertainment of young people here. There is a tea-house and an Internet café on the first floor, and a flag corner and a chess club on the second. It is planned that 12 people will be employed here.

It was noted that the tea-house will serve tea infused from the tea sorts growing in southern districts. Young people can relax and chat here. While at the chess club, juniors and teen-agers can study the secrets of the ancient game, while the museum of the state flag features glorious pages from the history of Azerbaijan. The museum has a collection of state flags of Azerbaijan since 1918. Also on display are coins, medals and other historical artifacts. A large area of the museum is covered by exhibits pertaining to Azerbaijan’s military history.

President Ilham Aliyev gave a high assessment to the work done.
