Ilham Aliyev met with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili.

Saying he is pleased that Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili attends the 5th Global Baku Forum, the head of state noted that his visit also created a good opportunity to discuss the issues of expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Noting that he attends the Global Baku Forum every year, the Georgian President hailed the importance of the forum. The Georgian President said his visit to Azerbaijan gives him an opportunity to meet with the Azerbaijani President, and emphasized the significance of the visit in terms of holding discussions with his counterparts too.

Giorgi Margvelashvili underlined the deepening of the strategic relations between the two countries, hailing these ties as excellent.

President Ilham Aliyev praised close collaboration between the two countries and the high level of Azerbaijan-Georgia bilateral relations. He noted that these ties played an important role in the region, and in general on the international arena. The head of state emphasized the importance of further strengthening Azerbaijan-Georgia bilateral relations. President Ilham Aliyev noted that global projects implemented by the two countries contribute to strengthening cooperation in other areas too.
