It is my great pleasure to extend to you and to the Government and people of Azerbaijan my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the National Holiday.
Today more than ever, the problems we face transcend national borders. Finding and implementing solutions for these complex and connected challenges requires patience, determination and cooperation – effective, collective global action.
I am determined to see the United Nations keep pace with a rapidly changing world, and to see it deliver real, meaningful results on all three pillars of our work: development, peace and security and human rights.
I am encouraged to know that I can count on the leadership, dedication and support of Azerbaijan in our continuing endeavor to build a sustainable, safe and just world for all.
