Ilham Aliyev and President Igor Dodon held one-on-one meeting

Following the official welcome ceremony, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon have held a one-on-one meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Welcome! I am confident that this will be a good visit and we will discuss important issues of bilateral relations. We will exchange views on a number of issues. It is important to give dynamics to bilateral relations so that we can do a lot. Simply, both the leadership and ministers, all employees should work actively. Welcome to Azerbaijan!

President of Moldova Igor Dodon said:

- Dear Mr. President. I am very glad that we arranged this official visit to Azerbaijan at your invitation. We have very good bilateral relations. In May, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Unfortunately, we haven’t held a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in the past five years. That`s why I hope that our meeting will give new impetus to our bilateral bonds. Because, potential is very big. And we have not fully used it.

Moldova is home to a very large Azerbaijani diaspora. Across hundreds of years, we have lived together and they feel themselves well in Moldova. Our diaspora in Azerbaijan is smaller. We met yesterday. Around 10-15 people. But we have always lived together in peace and friendship. I hope and am confident that we will make better and more beautiful achievements in the future.
