Negotiations of Ilham Aliyev and Boris Tadic were held in an expanded format with the participation of delegations

Negotiations of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadic have been held in an expanded format with the participation of delegations.

Serbian President Boris Tadic has described Azerbaijan as his country’s important partner. He pointed to the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The Serbian President reiterated his country’s position in relation to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

President Boris Tadic emphasized that his country was interested in Azerbaijani companies participating in Serbia’s transport infrastructure and other sectors, including agriculture. He added that Serbia was interested in using Azerbaijan’s transport and transit opportunities. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijani-Serbian relations were developing rapidly.

“Such meetings are important from the standpoint of discussion of the various projects,” President Ilham Aliyev said and added that there was mutual confidence between the two countries. He highlighted that political relations were at a high level and there were good prospects for energy cooperation.

The head of state communicated Azerbaijan’s position on the Kosovo problem to the Serbian President again.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the activity of the intergovernmental commission would contribute to a further development of relations.
