Ilham Aliyev received new resident-coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received new resident-coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan, Fikret Akcura.

The President congratulated Fikret Akcura on his appointment as the UN resident-coordinator in Azerbaijan and wished him success. Stressing rapid development of relations between Azerbaijan and the UN, President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence in further expansion of cooperation.

Fikret Akcura recalled the maxim of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev – “Turkey and Azerbaijan are one nation, two states” – and added that he was honored to serve as the UN resident-coordinator in Azerbaijan. He assured the President that he would spare no efforts to expand the UN-Azerbaijan cooperation.

Fikret Akcura presented the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon`s letter to President Ilham Aliyev.
