Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Khizi District

President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Khizi District.

The head of state visited and laid a wreath at the statue of Heydar Aliyev in the park named after the nationwide leader in the center of Khizi.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed of the landscaping work carried out in the park. It was indicated that green areas had been established in the park located in the Heydar Aliyev Avenue, over 6,000 decorative shrubs and trees planted, a modern lighting system installed and the flag square set up. The park has all the conditions for the recreation of local residents, while the building of the Heydar Aliyev Center lends special beauty to it.

The head of state cut the ribbon marking the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center and toured the building. President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the construction of the center had commenced in May this year. There are 14 photo stands documenting various periods of the nationwide leader’s life and work, his visits to foreign countries and Azerbaijani districts. There is a bust of the great leader here.

The center has a 90-seat conference room, a meeting room and ancillary facilities fitted with modern equipment. There are good conditions for those interested in studying Azerbaijani history and literature, foreign languages and drawing.

The local library has publications dwelling upon the nationwide leader’s activities, the contributions of outstanding ophthalmologist, scientist and Academician Zarifa Aliyeva to the global ophthalmological science, the activities of President Ilham Aliyev and of the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
