Heads of state held talks in an expanded format

After a face-to-face meeting, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski held talks in an expanded format with the participation of delegations.

Addressing the meeting participants, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said:

Dear Mr. President!

Dear guests!

Let me warmly welcome you to Azerbaijan. Welcome to Azerbaijan!

We are attaching tremendous importance to your visit and are sure that it will contribute a lot to the development of Azerbaijani-Polish relations. Our relations cover many spheres. I am confident that the agreements reached during the visit will give a further impetus to our cooperation.

Our political relations are at a high level. At the same time, our economic relations have good prospects. Today we have exchanged views on energy cooperation. In other words, we want our relations to cover all spheres and Azerbaijani-Polish friendship to strengthen further.

Welcome again!

Speaking afterwards, Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said:

Dear Mr. President!

We are very glad and exceedingly pleased to be your guests in Azerbaijan today.

We see your country as a state that has an extremely important and significant role to play in this region. Of course, our relations will develop further after this visit.

Both our peoples gained real independence 20 years ago and are now adequately benefiting from this important asset. This manifests itself in the economic sphere too, which is confirmed by economic indicators of both countries.

Azerbaijan’s economic achievements have earned your country great respect. From this standpoint business interest in your country is on the increase. We are giving a high assessment to your successes.
