According the decree and instructions of President Ilham Aliyev concerning the reconstruction of road and transportation infrastructure in line with modern requirements, the consistent measures are being undertaken to improve the road infrastructure in the capital city and the regions. The new road crossroads and walkways are also being constructed in the country.
On August 28, the head of state has familiarized with the course of the construction work carried out in the 2nd – the 4th km of Baku – Alat highway near the State Flag Square.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the construction project. It was reported that the total length of this part of highway is 2.8 km while its width will be 41.50 meters. This new road that will consist of eight lanes will ensure the comfortable entry and exit to the capital city in southern and southern-western directions. In order to ensure the safety of pedestrians in this part of the Baku-Alat highway near the State Flag Square, 4 new pedestrian crossings are under construction. The construction and design work is being carried out professionally in accordance with the most modern standards.
Parallel to the construction work carried out in the 2nd – the 4th km of Baku – Alat highway, the project of the expansion of the National Seaside Park and its connection to the State Flag Square is being implemented successfully.
It should be noted that at the meeting held on March 9, 2011 dedicated to the social and economic development of the city of Baku and its surrounding districts, President Ilham Aliyev has given his instructions on expanding the National Seaside Park till the State Flag Square and executing the reconstruction and refurbishment work in this area. Always keeping in the focus of his attention the implementation of this project, the President of Azerbaijan has studied the work directly at place. The head of state was informed about the construction work carried out here. It was reported that according to the project, it is envisaged to expand the National Seaside Park till the State Flag Square. It was noted that all conditions will be created here for the rest of the population. Having the history of more than one century, the Baku Boulevard has entered into a new development stage starting from 2011.
Furthermore, President Ilham Aliyev has familiarized with the course of large scale reconstruction and refurbishment work carried out around the State Flag Square. The head of state has given relevant instructions and recommendations related the construction work which is underway in this area.
