The Chief-of-Staff of the Presidential Administration has attended an international meeting of senior security officials in Yekaterinburg

An international meeting of senior security officials is under way at the “Hyatt Regency” hotel of Russia’s Yekaterinburg.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by a delegation led by the Chief-of-Staff of the Presidential Administration, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Ramiz Mehdiyev, and also comprising the heads of departments Fuad Alasgarov, Novruz Mammadov and Elnur Aslanov.

The two-day meeting attended by representatives from 65 countries around the world is expected to discuss issues relating to cooperation in natural and manmade disasters, international information security in the circumstances of an emerging information society and transnational crime.

During the international meeting, the Chief-of-Staff of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, made presentations on “Problems of international cooperation in combating forms of extremism in crises associated with interstate hostilities and religious tolerance” and “General approaches to the strengthening of international information security”.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Chief-of-Staff of the Presidential Administration, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Ramiz Mehdiyev, had a meeting with the Secretary of the Turkish National Security Council, Serdar Kilic. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the future plans and cooperation between security councils of the two countries.

The Chief-of-Staff of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, also had a meeting with the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Stanislaw Kozey. Mr. Kozey invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to Poland and suggested that security councils of the two countries sign a relevant agreement and approve a plan of cooperation.

Ramiz Mehdiyev also invited the head of the Polish National Security Bureau to Azerbaijan. The sides agreed to prepare an agreement on cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Security Council and the Polish National Security Bureau.

At the end of the meeting, Stanislaw Kozey presented Ramiz Mehdiyev with a medal of the Polish National Security Bureau.
