Ilham Aliyev reviewed a project on the reconstruction of the Guba city water and sewage system

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed a project on the reconstruction of the Guba city water and sewage system.

The head of state was informed that work on the reconstruction of the Guba city water and sewage networks and facilities using the funds allocated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development had commenced in August this year. The project envisages the construction of a new horizontal water source in the basin of the Gudyalchay river, construction of a 5,000 cubic meter water reservoir in the Gachrash Yolu settlement, a 20,000 cubic meter one in the Davadabani settlement and a 5,000 cubic meter one on the Nugadi road, a new 152-km water line and a new 147-km sewage line within the city.

It was noted that a 5,000 cubic meter water reservoir would be built above the line that will supply the Guba city with drinking water. The water collected here will be communicated to two 3,000 cubic meter reservoirs to be built at the next stage. This will provide both the Guba city and some district villages with an uninterrupted water supply. The new sewage line will also play an important part in eliminating the city’s sanitation problem. The sewage water accumulating here will be transferred to the Khachmaz sewage water treatment plant.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed a stand featuring the work the AzerSu Open Joint-Stock Company has been doing to upgrade the country’s water and sanitation systems.

Then President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of a 5,000 cubic meter water reservoir.
