President Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, have met with the former UNESCO Director General, Koichiro Matsuura.
Touching upon the importance of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum, the former UNESCO Director General, Koichiro Matsuura, stressed that Azerbaijan has been implementing very important humanitarian initiatives in recent years. Koichiro Matsuura described the participation of eminent scholars and public figures of the world in the forum as an expression of international interest in the event.
President Ilham Aliyev said he was glad to see the former UNESCO Director General, Koichiro Matsuura, in Azerbaijan again. Describing the Baku International Humanitarian Forum as a significant event, the head of state stressed that our country has become a center of international humanitarian initiatives.
