Ilham Aliyev received Georgian Foreign Minister

President Ilham Aliyev has received Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze congratulated the government, people of Azerbaijan and personally President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan being elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Grigol Vashadze described Azerbaijan’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council as a success of Azerbaijani diplomacy.

The President of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of Azerbaijan becoming a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council on the anniversary of its independence and described this as evidence of Azerbaijan’s growing international authority. President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Georgian government for its support of Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council vote.

The sides pointed with satisfaction to the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in different directions, including energy, and exchanged views on future prospects for cooperation.
