President Ilham Aliyev has attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the upgraded water supply and sewage system in Gakh and the Gakhingiloy and Gakhbash villages.

Construction workers warmly welcomed the head of state.

The President of Azerbaijan reviewed the plan of Gakh’s water supply and sewerage system. It was indicated that in accordance with the project on the reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage system of Gakh and the Gakhingiloy and Gakhbash villages, a reservoir with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters will be constructed here at the initial stage. Several reservoirs with a capacity of 500 cubic meters each will be built and sewage lines laid at subsequent stages. A 8,300-meter polyethylene water line will be built from three springs near the Hamamchay bridge to the Gakhbash reservoir. A water treatment facility will be built on an area of five hectares. At the final stage, water and sewage lines in the settlements of Gakh and the villages of Gakhbash and Gakhingiloy will be reconstructed. Construction of the system is scheduled for completion in 2013.

The foundation was laid for the upgraded water supply and sewage system in Gakh and the Gakhingiloy and Gakhbash villages.

President Ilham Aliyev lowered a metal capsule into the foundation and launched the grouting facility.

The head of state met with construction workers, wished them every success and said.

A new water project is being launched in Gakh District. You will be implementing this project. You have to make sure that this project is fulfilled with maximum quality and in time. The water and sanitation problems of Gakh and surrounding villages will be resolved once and for all. This project must be completed within about two years. So yet another step has been taken to resolve water supply problems in Azerbaijan. We are starting this project in yet another district.

There are specific programs and projects on all regions and districts. I attend groundbreaking ceremonies for water projects almost every time I travel to the districts. I wish you every success.
