As part of a visit to Gabala District, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Qafqaz Sport hotel.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the hotel and toured the hotel.

It was indicated that the construction of the five-star hotel began in March 2010. Foreign furniture and accessories were used in interior finishing of the hotel which is built on the basis of a synthesis of avant-garde and classical architectural styles. The hotel, consisting of a seven-storey main building and cottages, has 98 rooms, including royal apartments, 12 suites and one room for disabled visitors.

President Ilham Aliyev toured the hotel rooms. It was noted that the rooms are well suited for receiving visitors at a high level. All rooms are equipped with a digital safe, a mini-bar, ventilation systems, satellite TV, international telephone communication and wireless Internet.

The President was informed that the restaurants, bars and meeting rooms in the hotel have the names of precious stones. The 300-seat conference room "Lapis" has the necessary technical equipment. It is intended for conferences, meetings, workshops and presentations. The “Mirvari” restaurant for 134 people will mainly serve the breakfast menu. The hotel also has the “Safir a la carte” restaurant for 170 seats, which will work to order, and a 180-seat “Firuza” restaurant where conferences, workshops and various functions can be held. Visitors can taste the dishes of Azerbaijani and world cuisine at the restaurants. The hotel also has several bars where visitors are offered a varied menu, as well as an indoor pool.

It was noted that the hotel’s sports center is suited for various training sessions. The President watched a performance by young athletes of the district and was photographed with them.

It was also mentioned that the hotel has a SPA and health center, a gym, a sauna, Turkish baths, a massage room, a hairdresser’s, a beauty salon and a vitamin bar. Visitors can make use of computers, fax, parking services, laundry, business center, coaches and a medical aid station.

The hotel has 21 adjacent family cottages also built in line with contemporary conditions. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a children's playground.

The head of state gave a high assessment to the work done and wished the staff further success.
