Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Turkish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee

President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Volkan Bozkir.

Stressing the importance of the fact that deputies of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey pay their first post-election official visits to Azerbaijan, the President expressed his satisfaction that, along with government officials, this tradition is also respected by Turkish MPs. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the visit of the delegation led by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Volkan Bozkir, to Azerbaijan would be successful. Indicating that the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries cover all areas, the President expressed hope that inter-parliamentary relations would continue to be at a high level.

Volkan Bozkir said it was an important duty for the delegation of the Grand National Assembly to pay its first foreign visit to Azerbaijan. He conveyed greetings on behalf of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Cemil Cicek. Congratulating President Aliyev on the 20th anniversary of the state independence of Azerbaijan, Bozkir said that at a time when the region and the world have serious problems, the election of Azerbaijan to the UN Security Council is an important event.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Cemil Cicek and asked Mr. Bozkir to communicate his greetings to the Turkish President, Prime Minister and President of the Grand National Assembly.
