Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from a newly-appointed Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and

Plenipotentiary of Romania to Azerbaijan, Daniel Cristian Ciobanu.

Ambassador Daniel Cristian Ciobanu reviewed the guard of honor.

Daniel Cristian Ciobanu presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Stressing that political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are developing successfully, the President pointed to the existence of a strong legal framework for a further enhancement of bilateral relations. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted Romania's role in the development of Azerbaijan-EU and Azerbaijan-NATO relations. The President of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of mutual high-level visits for the strengthening of relations between the two countries. Wishing the Ambassador every success in his activities, President Aliyev expressed confidence that Daniel Cristian Ciobanu would contribute to a further development of ties during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

Expressing his satisfaction with the start of its activities as Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Daniel Christian Ciobanu said bilateral relations were developing successfully. The diplomat pointed to the importance of the Joint Action Plan on strategic partnership between the two countries signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Romania. Daniel Cristian Ciobanu said his country was interested in developing economic relations with Azerbaijan, including those in the energy sector. The Romanian diplomat said he would spare no effort to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
