Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Azerbaijan, Mr. Zulfigur Rahman

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Azerbaijan, Mr. Zulfigur Rahman.

Ambassador Zulfigur Rahman reviewed the guard of honor.

Zulfigur Rahman presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan had a discussion with the Ambassador.

The President of Azerbaijan said the political relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh were at a high level and pointed to the active cooperation between the two countries in the United Nations and other international organizations. Voicing his confidence that these relations would continue to develop, President Aliyev said it was necessary to multiply efforts towards expanding bilateral relations in all areas. The head of state expressed hope that Ambassador Zulfigur Rahman’s activities would help develop these relations in all spheres, including economic.

Ambassador Zulfigur Rahman congratulated the President of Azerbaijan on the country’s election to the UN Security Council and added that Bangladesh would continue to support Azerbaijan on all issues, including the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. Ambassador Zulfigur Rahman thanked President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s support of Bangladesh at various international forums.

The head of state expressed his gratitude to the government of Bangladesh for its support of Azerbaijan in the adoption of a resolution on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and in Azerbaijan’s election to the UN Security Council.
