Ilham Aliyev received the former president and prime minister of Montenegro

President Ilham Aliyev has received the former president and prime minister of Montenegro, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic.

The President said that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Montenegro had been developing fast and reached a high level in recent years. Stressing that the President of Montenegro had recently paid a visit to Azerbaijan and an Azerbaijani delegation had visited the Republic of Montenegro, President Aliyev pointed to the importance of mutual visits for the development of relations. Indicating that cooperation between the two countries had substantially increased over a short period of time, the President expressed hope that Milo Djukanovic’s visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to a further development of these ties.

The former president and prime minister of the Republic of Montenegro and the chairman of the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, remembered with satisfaction addressing a conference together with President Ilham Aliyev in 2006. Indicating that he was closely following Azerbaijan’s rapid development, Milo Djukanovic congratulated the head of state on the country’s great successes and Azerbaijan’s standing on the international arena.

The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro.
