From President of the United States of America, Barack Obama

Dear Mr. President,

Congratulations on your fiftieth birthday. I appreciated your letter on the occasion of my fiftieth birthday last August. This is indeed an important anniversary, and I hope that you are able to celebrate it together with family and good friends as I did.

Our two countries have a strong relationship based on shared interests and mutual respect, and I am firmly committed to strengthening this vital partnership. We will continue to cooperate closely on a wide range of challenges, including our countries’ efforts to diversify energy supplies to Europe, advance democratic and economic reform, and enhance regional security, particularly in achieving a lasting, peaceful resolution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Please accept my congratulations for your birthday and my very best wishes to you and your family for the New Year.

Sincerely,

President of the United States of America
Barack Obama
