Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan, Hong Jiuyin.

Ambassador Hong Jiuyin inspected the guard of honor.

Hong Jiuyin presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Stressing that the relations between the two countries were based on the principles of friendship and partnership, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the level of interstate relations. The President pointed to the presence of extensive opportunities for a further expansion of economic cooperation in the field of investment. President Aliyev expressed hope that the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China, as friendly and partner countries, would continue to actively cooperate on regional matters, including the strengthening of peace and security. President Aliyev wished the Ambassador success in his work.

Ambassador Hong Jiuyin communicated greetings on behalf of Chairman of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao.

Recalling his visit to Azerbaijan three years ago, the Ambassador said he was witnessing great changes in Baku over this period. Hong Jiuyin said his country appreciated the progress Azerbaijan has achieved under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and the country’s successes in establishing stability in society and rapid economic development.

Remembering with satisfaction his visit to China in 2008 and meetings with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao, President Aliyev said Azerbaijan also rejoiced in China’s rapid development and successes.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from Chairman of the People's Republic of China and asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to Mr. Hu Jintao.
