Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan, Raden Prayono Atiyanto.

Ambassador Raden Prayono Atiyanto inspected the guard of honor. Raden Prayono Atiyanto presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Noting that political relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Indonesia were successfully developing, the President pointed to the importance of mutual support between the two countries in international organizations. Saying that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Indonesia had started to operate several years ago, President Aliyev mentioned that the opening of the Embassy of Indonesia in Azerbaijan would further enhance cooperation. The President said there were good opportunities for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in economic, investment, trade sectors and in joint projects. Stressing the importance of the start of Raden Prayono Atiyanto’s mission in Azerbaijan as Indonesia’s first Ambassador, President Ilham Aliyev wished him success.

Ambassador Raden Prayono Atiyanto conveyed greetings on behalf of President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He said his country was interested in expanding the friendship and cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Stressing that the level of political ties between the two countries was encouraging, the diplomat said he had been specifically instructed by the President of Indonesia to contribute to the development of economic cooperation.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to the Indonesian President.
