President Ilham Aliyev has received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics.
Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics passed on greetings on behalf of President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Berzins and the former President, Valdis Zatlers, to the President of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting the sides stressed that bilateral relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan were developing successfully in various fields, pointed to the importance of relations within the framework of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, exchanged views on cooperation between Caspian and Baltic countries, etc.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Andris Berzins and the former President, Valdis Zatlers, and asked the minister to convey his greetings to the incumbent and former Latvian Presidents.
