President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new park at the section of the Heydar Aliyev Avenue crossing the Surakhani district. The President looked at photographs depicting the previous and current condition of the area.

Previously, the territory of the park was in an environmentally neglected state. Due to the ground waters coming onto the surface, the whole area was swampy. After visiting the area in 2006, President Ilham Aliyev gave the instruction to drain the lake that had emerged. After the lake had been drained in accordance with the President’s instructions, a park was laid out on the territory. At present, it is one of the most beautiful parks not only in the Surakhani district but also in the entire city. The park established in the Bulbula settlement has all the necessary conditions for people’s recreation.

The head of the Surakhani district Executive Authority, Ilgar Abbasov, informed the President that the construction of the park began in late 2011. This is the fifth park on the territory of the Surakhani district. Its total area is 17,538 square meters. The area has been landscaped with great taste and green areas have been established. In accordance with local conditions, more than 500 different trees and flowering shrubs have been planted. There is a children’s playground covering 568 square meters and various attractions.

There is also a modern lighting system in the park.

Thanks to the implementation of the “State program on the socioeconomic development of districts of Baku and its suburban settlements” signed by President Ilham Aliyev, the appearance of the capital is changing and all the work is being done with high quality. The new park, built at the section of the Heydar Aliyev Avenue crossing the Surakhani district, will make Baku even more beautiful and become a popular place of recreation.
