President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva.

The President said the relations between the two countries had a long history. He stressed that high-level contacts were producing effective results. Recalling a recent visit to Azerbaijan by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, President Aliyev regarded the visit by the chairperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly as evidence of the dynamic development of relations. The President noted the importance of the joint projects the two countries are implementing in energy, tourism and other spheres. Touching upon inter-parliamentary cooperation, the President expressed his satisfaction with the active interaction between the two countries in the Euronest project. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that Tsetska Tsacheva’s visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to a further strengthening of the relations with friendly Bulgaria in various areas, including in the field of inter-parliamentary relations.

The Chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Tsetska Tsacheva, stressed the importance of her visit to Azerbaijan in the run-up to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. She expressed her confidence that the cooperation between the two legislatures would continue to grow.
