Ilham Aliyev received a delegation of the British House of Lords

President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation of the British House of Lords comprising Lord Sheikh Mohamed Iltaf, Lord Kamlesh Kumar Patel, Lord Duke Hugh John Maxwell, Lord Risby Richard John Grenville.

Pointing to a high level of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy and other areas, Lord Sheikh Mohamed Iltaf expressed his hope that these relations would cover wider areas in the future. Noting the importance of bp activities in Azerbaijan, Lord Sheikh Mohamed Iltaf said that along with cultural ties with our country, Britain was also interested in further expanding business cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction his meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron at the NATO Summit in Chicago and their discussions on bilateral relations. Saying that the relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain had a long history, the President noted the importance of cooperation in the energy, investment and other sectors of the economy. Emphasizing the importance of the 19th International Exhibition and Conference “Caspian Oil & Gas: Refining and Petrochemicals”, President Aliyev said bp was one of Azerbaijan’s key partners successfully cooperating with the country not only in the energy sector but also in other areas.
