Azerbaijan President and Turkish Prime Minister held a meeting in the presence of delegations

Following their private meeting, President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks in an expanded format with delegations from both countries.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the meeting:

Dear guests!

I cordially welcome you. Welcome to Azerbaijan! I am sure your visit will be successful. We exchanged ideas in our private meeting. We revisited every sphere of our bilateral relations. We realized, once again, that Turkish-Azerbaijan friendly and fraternal relations develop successfully, our people cooperate closely, and all our joint initiatives and projects are implemented effectively. I am positive that Your visit will mark an important step toward further development of bilateral relations and will bear positive outcomes. Turkey and Azerbaijan – two friendly, fraternal states, as always, cooperate successfully, and react in tandem to all the challenges faced. I am confident that these great traditions will continue in future and our people will be closer than ever.

Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expressed his gratitude for the cordial welcome:

Thank you very much! We got a chance to evaluate, with my dear brother, Azerbaijani-Turkish bilateral relations, the situation in the region, and the development processes going on around the world. I appreciate the opportunity to assess these things together. Our ministers, at least, had an opportunity to meet with each other. This was also a good opportunity for us.

Turkeyand Azerbaijan are inseparable two brothers. We are two members of the same family. Surely, as stated by national leader Heydar Aliyev, we are one nation, two states. We always repeat this dictum. This, of course, does not only exist in words, but is reflected, and will be reflected, in our actions. We are two states that prepare themselves for future by supporting each other. I hope our joint efforts and works bare fruits in every sphere.

My heart fills with joy every time I visit Azerbaijan and witness its development. This time, as well, I noticed Azerbaijan’s development. I am delighted to see this. We rejoice at your progress. We accept Azerbaijan’s development and its enrichment as ours. I believe that, this is the case for Azerbaijan as well. Our domestic concerns are the concerns of each of us. Therefore, I am delighted to get together with you. Of course, there are many international events ahead of us. We will meet again. I would like to thank you. I wish you well!
