Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and

Plenipotentiary of France to Azerbaijan, Pascal Meunier.

Ambassador Pascal Meunier reviewed the guard of honor.

Pascal Meunier presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then President Ilham Aliyev had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Noting that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France had a rich history, the President said that cooperation was also developing successfully. Stressing that it was expanding into many areas, President Aliyev expressed his confidence that these ties would be further strengthened in the future. Noting that economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and France, including the area of energy security, was expanding, the head of state emphasized the importance of the activities of many French companies in Azerbaijan.

The sides discussed ways of resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Ambassador was informed about Azerbaijan’s stance on the conflict settlement. The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

President Ilham Aliyev wished the Ambassador every success in his mission in Azerbaijan.
