President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin.
Welcoming the guests, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences to the people of Russia over the numerous casualties in the aftermath of floods in Krasnodar Territory.
The President congratulated Sergey Naryshkin on his election as Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and appreciated the fact that he was paying one of his first foreign visits to Azerbaijan. President Aliyev stressed that it was an important indicator of the development of relations between the two countries in all fields.
Pointing to very fruitful and dynamic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, the President said the peoples and societies of the two countries had contributed a lot to that.
Expressing his gratitude for the condolences and kind words, Sergey Naryshkin said bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation were multifaceted.
The meetings held thus far show that the inter-parliamentary cooperation has a great potential, he said.

By an Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin, was awarded the “Dostlug” Order for outstanding achievements in the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
By an Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Russian President's special representative for international cultural cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, was also awarded the “Dostlug” Order for a special contribution to the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev presented the Orders to the guests.
Sergey Naryshkin and Mikhail Shvydkoy expressed their appreciation for the high award.
