President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Gonzalo de Benito.

The President expressed his confidence that the visit by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Gonzalo de Benito, to Azerbaijan would be successful in terms of development of bilateral ties.

Gonzalo de Benito said his country was closely monitoring Azerbaijan’s economic development in recent years. He stressed that Spain was interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in various spheres. Gonzalo de Benito conveyed a message from Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on ways of enhancing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Spain in different directions.
