President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chief of Defense General Staff of Italy, Biagio Abrate.

The President said the relations between Azerbaijan and Italy were developing successfully in various fields. Noting the importance of mutual visits to the expansion of bilateral relations, President Aliyev expressed his hope that the first visit by the Chief of Defense General Staff of Italy to Azerbaijan would be important for the discussion of issues related to development cooperation in this field.

The Chief of Defense General Staff of Italy, Biagio Abrate, expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan. He noted the importance of successful cooperation between Italian servicemen and Azerbaijani peacekeepers as part of the international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.

The sides exchanged views on issues related to the development of cooperation between relevant agencies of both countries.
